Why the NME is Written by Cunts for Cunts (Reason 1638)

I'm not a huge fan of The Smiths or of Morrissey's solo career. But this story gets on my nerves.

Basically, this weeks NME features a cover story on Morrissey that suggests that he is racist and is against immigrants being in the UK.

The thing that irritates me about this story is that it perfectly proves how the NME is a poor excuse for music journalism, will make anything up and twist someone's words just so that they can seem 'edgy' and sell a few magazines, just as this posting on 'True To You' shows. The original interview was nothing like the end product that is now on the shelves.

I don't think that the NME has featured any proper music writing since it stopped being a broadsheet. It is more like a fashion magazine nowadays full of self-perpetuating bullshit.
